THE HUMBLE DUMPLING RETURNS

You can't keep a good thing down. I loved meeting our customers at our restaurant. The Humble Dumpling was built on making people happy. So many families...so many surprised looks as folks tasted their first Humble Dumpling. So many messages of support when we had to close our doors.

But our destiny was never going to be in owning our own restaurants. As The Humble Dumpling's founder, I knew I wanted to share Humble Dumplings with the rest of the world, but we needed to retool the business plan away from a retail storefront and towards wholesale production. It was the only way we could consistently make quality dumplings for hungry folks everywhere. In the process of exploring all the options available I met a lot of very interesting people who taught me a lot. Then I met Matt Brown.

If you live in Portland there's a good chance you've met or heard of Matt Brown. Whether he's holding court at Bunk Sandwiches' popular restaurant, bar, and music venue on Water Avenue, hosting stand-up comedy, or bringing some of the best music acts to the Rose City, Matt Brown is a Portland fixture. As founder and co-owner of the iconic Bunk chain, Matt immediately recognized the business potential in The Humble Dumpling. Then he ate them and was even more enthusiastic. Keith Aisner's unique twist on dumplings and the potential for the product held strong appeal. Over the next five years the two began to work together on other projects, became fast friends, and, when the time was right, brought The Humble Dumpling back to life.

Now, Keith and Matt are proud to be bringing Humble Dumplings back to the Portland area. We're partnering with local bars, restaurants, and caterers (and even a few super fans who buy our dumplings in bulk) who love the product as much as we do - and we have big plans for the future.

(We'll share more as things begin to gel.)

Because The Humble Dumpling isn't just a good business idea, it's a business that's built on making authentic connections with others. That's why we make every effort to make our business something greater than just another food producer. Because a rising tide raises all ships and if we're doing our jobs right we're making our business partners just a little more successful and a lot people blissfully full of dumplings.

So...thank you for the love, Portland! We are so glad to be back.

Let the next wave begin.

-Keith
